Remember Pastor Niemoller!

I wrote five days ago about the threat we are now facing from our own government and their willingness to kill their own people without due process of law. The following is from an article in today's Independent by Patrick Cockburn

But the drone attack should cause real alarm because it is an extraordinary extension of the powers of government to be able to execute its own citizens with no explanation, except that the killing was for the public good and against an unnamed but horrendous threat, the nature of which is known only to the government itself. Keep in mind that the ability to execute its own citizens has been a mark of tyrannical government from Rome in the days of the Caesars to Moscow during the Great Purge in the 1930s. Where evidence for an existential threat is lacking, it can be exaggerated or manufactured, as notoriously happened in 2003 over Iraqi WMD.

Remember where you heard it first! You would all be wise to keep an eye on what your government's, both in Britain and the US, are quietly doing to the law and civil liberties. Remember, Hitler had the fanatical support of the majority of the German people for his atrocities, and also remember the words of Pastor Niemoller who, writing about his attitude towards the Nazis said

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me

He had good reason to reflect on his indifference to the fate of other people as he found himself spending seven years in a concentration camp. Does anyone doubt that today's Tories would hesitate to incarcerate their enemies in camps if they could get away with it? Indeed, that is coming, and as with the targeted assassination of their own citizens, it will begin on the excuse of national security. If you think I am losing the plot and getting paranoid, what do you call Guantanamo if it is not a concentration camp, and don't forget, the Westminster establishment is fascinated by all things American. The Tories are already telling us that the election of Jeremy Corbyn as Labour leader threatens our national security and they persistently told us that about the SNP during the referendum. The beginning of totalitarianism includes the demonization of other people and the British are embracing such demonization with a gusto, trades unionists, socialists, the disabled, the disadvantaged, the scroungers and skivers, Muslims, the SNP etc. If you want to get into the mentality of Westminster, ponder for a second on the Parliamentary Labour Party's response to Jeremy Corbyn. These people actually had a meeting where they took a decision to respect the result of the ballot. Isn't that nice of them? We should all be eternally grateful to these paragons of the democratic process that they actually considered whether or not they would be bound by the decision of the members of their party. If that is not a totalitarian mindset then what on earth is it? I mean who on earth do these people think they are? Well I know and I have been warning you for a long time now.

In the same spirit, I wonder if any of you have ever noticed one of our government ministers a certain Justine Greening, and had a good look at her? I have been watching her for some time and I have come to the conclusion that she is most definitely not wired properly. I do not wish to be unkind but the said lady is definitely scary. She has the same look I identified in Mad Tony all those years ago. You have been warned.
